About Dr. Rodrigo Ruano:

Doctor Rodrigo Ruano graduated from the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo medical school in 1997. he then did his residency in obstertrics and gynecology in 2002, followed by a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine in 2002 and 2003. Dr. Ruano focuses his clinical and research efforts on developing and investigating new minimally invasive fetal therapies such as fetal endoscopic tracheal occlusion (FETO) for congenital diaphragmatic hernia, fetal cystoscopy for fetal bladder obstruction, in utero repair of fetal spina bifida, fetoscopic laser ablation for twin-twin transfusion syndrome, in utero ultrasound-guided treatment for fetal tumors, in utero fetal cardiac interventions and in utero treatment of congenital anomalies. He is also focused on new prenatal imaging technologies including ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. In addition to seeing his patients, he is a proffesor at University of Miami, chief of Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Director at UHealth Jackson Fetal Care.
