Doctor Floriano Marchetti is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with expertise in colon and rectal surgery, robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and colorectal cancer treatment. He received his undergraduate degree from Liceo Scientifico “B. Rosetti” University in Italy and completed his medical degree from the University of Bologna in 1988. He did his residency in general surgery in 1993 at St. Orsola Hospital, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery in 1996 from the Cleveland Clinic Hopsital. He then did a second residency at the Cleveland Clinic in 2001, followed by a second fellowship at University of Minnesota Hospital in 2002. He has written numerous book chapters and articles in international journals and presented at several national and international surgical and colorectal meetings. Dr. Marchetti has received several awards, including the Sergio Larach Award and the Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on new trends in Pelvic Pouch procedures. He speaks English, Italian and Spanish.
