About Dr. Vanessa Hui:

Doctor Vanessa Hui is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Chinese language from the University of California, Berkeley, and her medical degree from the University of Vermont in 2010. She completed her general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2010 and 2017. She also completed a two-year clinical research fellowship in colorectal surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York during her residency. Dr. Hui graduated from the colorectal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston in 2018. She is board-certified in both general surgery and colorectal surgery and a member of several surgical associations. She has authored several textbook chapters, reviews, and peer-reviewed articles. Her interests in colorectal surgery include minimally invasive surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, fecal incontinence, and hereditary colorectal syndromes. She is also interested in surgical resident and medical student education and serves as an associate surgical clerkship director for the medical school.
