About Dr. Adam Wanner:

Doctor Adam Weintraub Wanner graduated from the University of Basel School of Medicine in 1966. He followed this with a residency in internal medicine in 1970 at Kantonsspital Aarau and a fellowship in pulmonary disease in 1971 at Mount Sinai MEdical Center. His area of expertise includes pulmonary medicine, asthma, COPD and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. He speaks English, French, German, Hungarian and Spanish. In addition to seeing his patients, he is also a professor at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and has conducted research on airway biology(specifically on airway secretions and their clearance, but has shifted his focus to the interactions between commonly used airway medications for asthma and COPD), has published 270 original research papers and 55 book chapters and continues to mentor research fellows and junior faculty in the laboratory. Dr. Wanner has held leadership positions in the American Thoracic Society, served on editorial boards, and chaired NIH study sections and the VA Merit Review Board for Pulmonary Diseases. He has also served as the Scientific Director of the Alpha-1 Foundation.
